Sat 13 July – Sat 14 September 2019

Check out the summer edition of our 2019 programme for exhibitions, film screenings, workshops, readings and performance that explore words, images and actions that embrace the slapstick, the non-sense, the deadpan, the fantastical or the absurd as modes we use to live in or challenge the world around us.

You can download our full summer programme and watch David and Charlie introduce their exhibitions here

At the centre of our summer 2019 edition are two exhibitions – David Osbaldeston’s DOUBLE ACT and Charlie Hammond’s FARM WEEDS – which comprise new bodies of work made for our upstairs and downstairs spaces respectively. Click image above for more details

Our summer screenings are wide-ranging, including classic 1920s slapstick, ground-breaking Czech animation from the 1950s, artists’ film from the UK and Japan that foregrounds experimental actions, and a new release from Philippine independent cinema. Click image above for more details

Our summer events include a newly commissioned talk on the subject of humour and laughter, a live performance of abstract sound poetry, as well as letterpress and mono-printing workshops, movement sessions for children, and our next Read With Us! Click image above for more details
