Between the Two Fires: sensory friendly morning

Free, drop-in
No booking required

We also have a BSL exhibition tour led by deaf art guide Trudi Collier on Saturday 17 May, 2-4pm.

In CAMPLE LINE's downstairs gallery, three women stand beneath a striped, fabric art piece which hangs like a hammock and is the size of a large beach towel. One woman points up at the embroidered detailing.

Come and spend a sensory-friendly morning with our current spring exhibition – Sayan Chanda’s Between the Two Fires.

We will have relaxed, sensory friendly sessions on Sunday 20 April and Sunday 18 May from 11am-1pm.

These sessions are for adults, children, and families, and give priority to visitors who may have autism, learning disabilities or other sensory access needs.

You are very welcome to visit by yourself, or with your family, friends or a carer.

In these sensory-friendly sessions, you can come and enjoy the artworks in our gallery spaces and some creative resources. The galleries will be quiet and comfortable throughout the morning, and you can:

  • enjoy some resources for children to help explore the textures of Sayan’s exhibition
  • try a little bit of fabric collage on paper
  • enjoy audio descriptions or BSL descriptions of some of the artworks, which are available on a portable tablet that you can take around the building
  • handle a few of the materials Sayan has used in his exhibition
  • use one of our sensory packs to help you enjoy your time in the gallery

Please be in touch with our colleague Emma if you have any particular access requirements or questions about how to reach us or what to expect: emma@campleline.org.uk or 01848 331 000

You can learn more about Sayan’s exhibition here

Teas and coffees will be available.

Please ask if you would like to use one of our portable stools.
