Glazed earthenware artwork from Sayan Chanda’s ‘Between the Two Fires’ exhibition. The material is dark and glossy, resembling black liquid metal. The sculptures range from roughly hand-sized arched window frames to a similarly sized spiky oval sunburst.

SSayan Chanda’s tapestry, ‘All the Boons You Want’, suspended against the gallery wall. The red, scarf-like tapestry is draped over two small wall fixtures, dipping into a large-semi circle between them which nearly brushes the ground. The tapestry has warm-toned horizontal stripes, white accents, and long red tassels which pool on the floor on one side.

Join us at CAMPLE LINE for a BSL (British Sign Language) tour of artist Sayan Chanda’s current solo exhibition Between the Two Fires, which brings together over 20 works, including new woven tapestry, ceramics and drawings.

The tour will be led by Art Tour/Deaf Guide Trudi Collier.

It will run from 2-3pm, followed by a short creative workshop inspired by Sayan’s work, and time for a cup of tea and a chat.

You can find more information about Sayan’s exhibition here.

There will be a free minibus shuttle between Dumfries train station and CAMPLE LINE, leaving the train station at 1.15pm, and heading back to Dumfries from Cample at 3.45pm.

These times connect with round-trip train journeys from Glasgow, Edinburgh and Carlisle. Please let us know by 14 May if you would like to book a seat.
