Walk & Make
A walk and workshop led by Kate Temple

Saturday 18 June

We will meet at 11am outside Closeburn Primary School (DG3 5HP)

No creative experience necessary

Suitable for all ages but please note the walking distance and terrain
£3 per adult (children join for free)

We will do the walk in two sections – Closeburn to Cample and then Cample back to Closeburn.

We will stop for refreshments and to enjoy some creative activities when we reach Cample.

The total walking distance is just under 3 miles. Our estimated finishing time is 2pm.

All materials will be provided.

Please bring a packed lunch with you.

Parking: street parking outside Closeburn Primary School.

If you are not able to join us for the walk, but are interested to come along and enjoy some making, please join us at Cample and try the creative activities.

Between April and September, we will undertake a number of artist-led creative walks of varying lengths at Cample and in nearby communities. They will follow routes to suit different abilities

Artist Kate Temple will lead a walk and guide participants through a range of creative processes that will use things found along the way. There will be opportunities to try some simple foraging and arranging activities, using our finds to try hapazome (leaf-tapping), frottage (rubbings) and cyanotype (photographic printing process)

Many of us walk regularly, but don’t always have the chance to slow down or be creative outdoors. This walking workshop will give the opportunity to connect to our surroundings in different ways, learning how to be creative with what is all around us.

We will follow part of the route of Core Path 522 – Closeburn Church to Closeburnmill and back.

If you have any questions about the route, or if you would like a walking companion, please be in touch with us by email: info@campleline.org.uk

Please note that there may be a short section where we will be walking on country lanes and and unmade paths across fields with livestock. For this reason we ask that dogs do not join us for the walk.
