Discovering our local moths
With Malcolm Haddow

Saturday 3 May, 10am-1pm
Free to join, but booking advised

This event is wheelchair accessible
All ages welcome (children under 16 to be accompanied by an adult)

Join us in our green space on Saturday 3 May for a morning getting to know our local moths with  Malcolm Haddow, Support Officer at South West Scotland Environmental Information Centre based in Kirkgunzeon.

Last autumn, Malcolm gave a talk at CAMPLE LINE about the many moth species found in Dumfriesshire, including the Elephant Hawk-moth, the Buff-tip and the Bilberry Pug. We are pleased to welcome Malcolm back for the chance to discover the moths that live around us at Cample.

The night before – Friday 2 May – we will set several light traps  in the Cample area, and by morning, we hope to uncover an array of moths in all shapes, sizes, and colours. This capture-and-release activity ensures no harm comes to the moths.

If you would like to help set the traps in the evening on Friday 2 May, please email us directly: info@campleline.org.uk

The session will begin at 10am and will run until 1pm, dependent on the number of moths.

This will be an outdoor event, so please dress appropriately for the weather on the day.

Refreshments – teas, coffees, cold drinks – will be available.
