Frank Hayes returns to CAMPLE LINE this spring for a Drawing for Enjoyment workshop developed alongside our current exhibition, The Unearthed by Anderson Borba. Taking inspiration from Borba’s use of collage and from his frottage installation Veins (2020–2026), the session will explore texture, layering, repetition and mark-making through a range of drawing processes.
The workshop offers time and space to experiment with materials, slow down, and approach drawing in an open and exploratory way. In a relaxed and supportive setting, participants will be encouraged to try different techniques and ways of making, without pressure or expectation.
What to expect
The session will begin with a brief introduction to Borba’s exhibition, focusing on his use of collage and frottage. Frank will then introduce a selection of materials and simple drawing approaches for participants to explore at their own pace.
The workshop is designed to be inclusive and supportive, with an emphasis on curiosity, process and experimentation. No previous experience of drawing is required. All materials will be provided.
