Sign up for this 2 day sound workshop with filmmaker and sound artist Mark Lyken, which will take as its starting point the ‘sound life’ of Cample Mill site and its surroundings.

Given the presence of the mill, its workers cottages, its looms and later its hydraulics, a neighbouring stone depot, and two rail lines, the site would have been full of sound. This workshop will involve field recording (Day 1) and then the production of a sound work (Day 2).

It will also be an opportunity to see Mark’s exhibition New Town New Wave, and learn about the role of sound in his own work.
