Join us for an afternoon workshop exploring experimental photography techniques, memory and storytelling, run by award-winning local artist and photographer, Morag Paterson.

The workshop will begin with a short tour of Jumana Emil Abboud’s exhibition The Unbearable Halfness of Being at CAMPLE LINE, looking at the ways in which Jumana has worked with water sources, found objects, folklore and storytelling. There will then be opportunity to learn about in-camera techniques for creating abstract images, with time for discussion and question/answer with Morag. From there we will move outdoors to Cample Water – a small spate river that runs adjacent to CAMPLE LINE – to observe the water and spend some time taking photographs. The workshop will culminate back indoors with time to think about our captured images and the stories they tell.

Suitable for beginner/intermediate/advanced photographers. You can participate in the workshop using a phone camera or your own digital camera if you have one.
